 Meet the Hoop Historians

 

Reineking worked more than 500 DePaul University mens' basketball games as either its TV Time-out coordinator or play-by-play statistician from 1979 to 2023.  He is one of ten individuals who are charter members of the Hoop Historians.  Ted has attended 304 NCAA Tournament games, the most of any Hoop Historian.  In the early nineties, Ted completed a rare "double-double" by seeing 12 first and second round games in two different cities over a four day period in back-to-back years, as Reineking watched games in Louisville and Dayton in 1991 and Cincinnati and Dayton in 1992.  A devout follower of Notre Dame football, Ted has seen the Fighting Irish in action on over 200 occasions.  Some of the notable sporting events he has attended include World Series games in 1959, 1978, 1979 and 1982; the MLB All-Star Game in 1983 and 1990; the Stanley Cup finals in 1971 and 1973; the U.S. Open Golf Championships in 1975 and 1990; and the Masters Golf Tournament in 2007.  Ted is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hoop Historians, and serves the group as a Board Member.
