Bob was a 43 year member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.  He was a four year basketball letter winner at Wheeling College in Wheeling, West Virginia and went on to lead the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in free throw percentage (.906 in his junior year) and was a two-time All-Conference honor winner.  “Hondo” as he is affectionately known as, shot .864 from the free throw line for his career, which ranked among the top of all NAIA players nation-wide.  Bob most recently coached on the Stockton College (Galloway, New Jersey) coaching staff for 19 years, as the Ospreys won six New Jersey Athletic Conference titles and participated in 11 NCAA Tournament berths.  Hutchings was also head coach at Bridgeton High School in the 1980’s, head coach at Cumberland College from 1999-2004, served as an assistant at Army under Mike Krzyzewski and was an assistant for the Saudi Arabian National Team.  Bob is a member of the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Millville Thunderbolts Hall of Fame, Wheeling Jesuit University Hall of Fame and the All Sports Museum of Southern New Jersey Hall of Fame.  Hutch coached the USA team to a Silver Medal in the United World Games in Austria in 2016.
