 Meet the Hoop Historians

 

A grammar school and park district basketball coach, John played basketball for three years at Gordon Tech High School in Chicago and later went on to play on his school’s fraternity team at De Paul University where his team captured the championship.  Genova attended and photographed the street naming ceremonies for Mike Kryzyewski and Ray Meyer.  John attended the finals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the NAIA playoffs in Kansas City.  A fan of the game since fifth grade, Genova says it is the greatest game ever invented.  John has served the city of Chicago as a paramedic for over 40 years.
