Minute Maid Park

  • The Hoop Historians Welcome Dinner drew 32 people to its annual get together -- the third highest number in group history.

  • Selected members of the Hoop Historians visited with astronaut
    Lee Archambault in the Space Shuttle simulator at NASA.

  • For the first time in tournament history, a # 1 or # 2 seed failed to advance to the Final Four.

  • # 11 seed VCU tied a mark as the lowest seed to advance to the Final Four.  National runner-up Butler reached the title game for the second straight year (both losses) and were seeded # 8 in the Southeast Regional.

  • The Final Four Shuttle Transportation System drew high marks from the coaches and fans that were moved throughout the city.
