  • Connecticut's championship game victory was the biggest point spread upset (9.5 points) in title game history.

  • The group formally assembles with ten charter members: Brian Burmeister, Dorothy Kim, Surl Kim, John Mayberry, Dennis Mishko, Ted Reineking, Al Sack, Joe Spagnolo, Frank Wilson and Bruce Ziemer.

  • Traffic after the National Semi-final was at a stand-still on the Howard Franklin Bridge.  A concert was held in Raymond James Stadium on the same night.

  • A six person shuttle bus took 75 minutes to go from the Tropicana Stadium in Saint Petersburg to downtown Tampa.

  • Some Hoop Historians took a post-championship game ride in a red convertible from Saint Petersburg to Tampa -- the only favorable  transportation of the weekend.

  • On the afternoon of the title game, a number of Hoop Historians saw the Yankees play in an exhibition game at Legends Field.
