Michael W. Gant is a Senior Project Director – Logistics, Motorsports, and
Sports for Develop Indy. Gant joined Develop Indy in June of 2010. As a
Senior Project Director, Gant is responsible for growing, retaining, and
creating jobs in the areas of logistics, sports, and entrepreneurship, as well
as oversight of projects and business outreach in those areas, inside of Marion
County. Prior to joining Develop Indy, Gant was a financial advisor,
entering that industry in 2002. He has also served on a number of state and
local not-for-profit boards, currently serving on the Board for Lawrence
Township Boys’ Basketball, People for Urban Progress, and Play Ball Indiana.
Gant is also a former Men’s Basketball Coach at Rockhurst University (K.C., Mo.)
and Head Boy’s Basketball Coach for Arch Bishop O’Hara High School in Kansas
City, Missouri. He currently volunteers as a coach for young boys in Lawrence
Township. Gant is originally from Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from
Rockhurst College, with a degree in Business. He completed his Masters Degree
in Education at Central Missouri State University, eventually moving to
Indianapolis in 1999 with the NCAA. He remains active with the National
Association of Basketball Coaches, managing events for them at their National
Convention at the Men’s Final Four, since 1992.
