Jim is the former head basketball coach at Pepperdine, UCLA, Rhode Island and Georgia. Harrick is only one of four coaches to take four different schools to NCAA tournament. In 1995, he led UCLA to the NCAA Championship, and is the school's second winningest coach behind John Wooden. Over his career Jim's teams made sixteen NCAA Tournament appearances. Harrick started coaching at Morganside High School in Inglewood, California and became an assistant college coach at Utah State and at UCLA. Harrick also was an NBA scout for the Denver Nuggets and was a three-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year. In 1990 Jim was elected to his alma mater’s, Morris Harvey College-University of Charleston, Golden Eagle Sports Hall of Fame. Elected to the Hoop Historians as an Honorary Member: April, 2010
