Fred is the co-chairperson of the Public Affairs Committee of the Hoop
Historians.
An athletic Official for 30 years, Fred has officiated in high school state
championship games in both basketball and football. Allman refereed the Illinois High School State Basketball Tournament Finals in
2001, 2002 and 2004, including the State Championship Game in 2004 and has
worked an impressive total of 112 State Tournament Playoff games since 1994. Allman also officiated the Illinois High School
Class 5A State Championship Football Game in 2005. In addition to working
on the court, Fred is a state certified clinician and an assignor in the Mid
Suburban League in suburban Chicago. For his efforts and accomplishments
toward the game of basketball, Fred was elected to the Illinois Basketball
Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008. He is the head of Elementary Physical Education at DuJardin School in Chicago suburban Bloomingdale along with spending the past 22 years as a T-Ball instructor for the Arlington Heights (IL) Park District. A lifelong and diehard Chicago Cubs fan,
Allman has been a regular visitor to Spring Training sites in both Arizona and Florida.
Besides running from ballpark to ballpark, Fred has also completed three Chicago Marathons.
