Don is the assistant basketball
coach at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. MacKay
started coaching youth teams at the age of 17 and has been coaching at the high
school and collegiate levels since 1982. Coach Mac has been a member of
the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the Basketball Coaches
Association of New York. Don also coached high school softball for five
years and was the varsity golf coach for another 14 years. MacKay's
passion for basketball goes back to attending his first college basketball game
as a youngster, which featured Ohio State stars Jerry Lucas and John Havlicek.
Don attended the game for fifty cents. Obviously it was money well spent.
